Easy & Simple Tips to Setup your Transition

Transition 101

~ If you are a first timer, the transition is the area where you transition from one sport to another. There are two transitions: Swim to Bike (T1) and Bike to Run (T2)

Before the swim

~ Separate your transition mat (or towel) into transition 1 (swim to bike) or transition 2 (bike to run) so you can keep separated the things that you need for each transition.

~ Place your bike socks in your shoes

~ If you are going to put a jersey or a t-shirt on, place it in your helmet so you remember to put it on first (Trying to put on a t-shirt/jersey over a helmet can be challenging 😉 )

~ Place your sunglasses in your helmet for protection. It can get a bit crazy in transition sometimes

Steps from Swim to Bike 

~ Remove swim cap, goggles and wetsuit

~ Put on your helmet, sunglasses

~ Put on the bib belt and slide your bib number to the back

~ Put sunscreen on and/or anti-chaffing cream

Steps from Bike to Run

~ Switch your bike shoes to run shoes

~ Switch your helmet to your visor or running cap

~ Flip your bib number to the front

~ Put more sunscreen on and/or anti-chaffing cream
